Kewanee Real Estate takes pride in promoting our wonderful community and serving the real estate needs of our friends and neighbors.
Kewanee was even declared the Rand McNally 2013 Best of the Road Contest “Friendliest Small Town in America” saying “where good cheer, genuine courtesy, and community service are cited as hallmarks."
We suspect this nomination came as a result of Kewanee hosting over 200 artists and muralists from around the world who painted (15) historically-themed murals in and around our downtown in July 2013.
The muralists, called the Walldogs, were impressed by Kewanee’s “friendliness and gratitude.” Whether you are looking for a small town in which to raise your family or an economical place to call home in your retirement years, Kewanee is the place to be.
As the largest town in three (3) counties, we offer the conveniences expected in a regional hub. We are just a short drive from the larger metropolitan areas of Peoria, Galesburg, or LaSalle/Peru in Illinois, or the Illinois/Iowa Quad Cities. The city of Chicago is easily accessible either by car or very conveniently by rail. An Amtrak train leaves Kewanee daily at 8:06 AM arriving in Chicago’s Union Station at 10:35 AM and again at 7:24 PM arriving in Chicago at 9:53 PM. Daily departures from Chicago are at 7:35 AM arriving in Kewanee at 9:43 AM and again at 5:55 PM arriving Kewanee at 8:03 PM. These trains originate or continue on to Quincy, IL. Of course, parking at Kewanee’s Amtrak Station is always FREE.
Kewanee offers an array of housing opportunities from modest single family homes to stately Victorian beauties and everything in between. New construction is encouraged with the City of Kewanee offering building lots for $1,500 each (you heard it right!) in two (2) new housing developments (some restrictions apply – call us for details). For those who would prefer to live in a senior living facility or at least in a neighborhood of exclusively other seniors, we have that too. Low crime, easy commuting, more parks per capita than any other community in Illinois, and (2) local 18-hole golf courses are icing on the cake.
If you would consider moving to Kewanee, please give us a call or email us. We’d love to take you on a guided tour of just what Kewanee has to offer. Let us show you why we love to call Kewanee our hometown!
